Birthday Party, Engagement Party & Wedding Reception in one!

I catered a party last for clients' that had a lot to celebrate, at first the party was supposed to be a birthday party for Lisa and then her beau Daryl had recently proposed for her hand in marriage, then they were married the night before the party!  Wow....I felt so privileged to cater a party with so much to celebrate, friends, family and neighbors were clinking glasses of champagne to celebrate and eating good food, prepared by me, of course!  Some new items from my Hor D'Oeuvres repertoire (yes, I do think my cooking is an Opera) included such comfort food items as, Tomato Bisque Soup "Shots" with Mini Grilled Cheese and Indian Bombay Lamb Sliders topped with Feta Cheese and Curry Tzatziki Sauce.  Longtime favorites were also featured, like my famous Lamb Chops with fresh Honey Mint Sauce and you can't leave without a sweet ending of Creme Brulee!  Congratulations Lisa and Daryl, may you have a very long, happy and healthy marriage! Cheers, Chef Joseph

Office Going Away Party in San Francisco

Parting ways with co-workers can be hard, especially if you have become close with some of them, but having a party with delicious wine and good food Always makes it a bit better, bittersweet let's say.
Enjoying this moment is a scrumptious one with foods like...Milk Chocolate Fountain with assorted tasty tid bits to dip or my new appetizer that I tried out, Gruyere Gougeres, a cheese puff so cheesy, light and full of flavor.  Not to mention my popular Meatloaf Sliders, just like mom used to make but in a "slider" patty with all the tangy goodness of a Sunday meatloaf in a bun!  Don't forget your veggies...displayed vertical in glass gives the old crudite standby new life with my homemade caramelized onion dip and sun dried tomato dip, healthy and good for you!  Another popular favorite that will conjure up memories of your local taqueria are my fantastic Chipotle Pulled Pork mini tostadas with guacamole and cojita cheese, a little bit of Tex Mex in a bite sized morsel.

Engagement Party in San Francisco

OMG...It's been over 1/2 a year since I posted anything, so sorry, I guess I've been too busy.

Fall Sit Down Dinner Birthday Party in Hillsborough!

Turning 50 is a milestone and celebrating it with friends and family is the way to do it, but celebrating it a special way with gourmet catering it the real way to do it.  The butler and his team mates did again with style, grace and plenty of flavor with this delicious gourmet sit down dinner.  The host and hostess and all the guests were pleased, to the point that they could not breathe!  I didn't mean to stuff them all to the gills, but sometimes it happens.

As guests arrived at the party we started off their appetite with some passed hor d'ouevres, first with my newest creation, olive tapenade and goat cheese palmiers, so good, tangy and savory and goes so well with a dry martini.  Second was my famous Korean marinated tuna tartare with wasabi edammame puree on a wonton crisp and third was a fabuous crunchy roasted corn, chili and cheese phyllo tartlet.

The seated dinner started off with the seasonal favorite, creamy butternut squash soup with sour cream, followed by a fresh and crisp mixed spring green salad with apples, smoked bacon, fresh figs, blue cheese and a wonderful bacon sherry vinaigrette.  The dinner was a tender and juicy steak au poivre beef tenderloin with creamy Gruyere cheese mashed potato gratin with a parmesan tuile and we can forget something green on the plate; haricots vert with sundried tomatoes and walnuts...now that's a dinner you would not forget!

40th Birthday Celebration in San Jose

Catered a 40th birthday celebration for a new client in San Jose this past September.  It was a sunny and warm afternoon with hungry guests celebrating and eating up all the delicious food.  Special occasions and casual affairs should be catered, this way you can be a guest at your own party and actually enjoy yourself without having to worry about anything, I'm sure you can remember all the parties that you have been stuck in the kitchen sweating over a hot stove and you were the guest of honor, no less!

At Butler For Hire Catering we take care of setting up the party for you, making sure the buffet table is always stocked, passing appetizers to your guests and if you wish, we can supply a bartender for you to take care of mixing and serving the drinks for you.  Not to mention, we clean as we go and clean up everything at the end of the party, so you don't have to!  So, next time you have a special celebration to host don't do this yourself and don't go to a restaurant, where you will fee rushed to leave, just call me....it will be worth every penny.  Look me up on the web  www.butlerforhire.com
and remember...You can tell your friends that "The Butler Did It!"

Fund Raiser Event for Candidate Rob Bonta

I catered a fund raiser event Wednesay night for candidate Rob Bonta for California State Legislature, I wish him the best of luck, no Filipino American has ever won a California State Assembly or Senate seat even though Filipino Americans are the second largest Asian American ethnic group in the state of California.  Supporters were happy to satisfy their appetite gobbling up my delicious vitles, happy stomach means happy checkbook, so hopefully some great money was raised for Rob.  The venue was fabulous, a great clubhouse on the fifth floor with many places for guests to lounge amidst the huge "alice in wonderland" type flower pots with trees in them.  I had a great time cooking and everyone enjoyed them selves!  So, get out there and vote in November!
Look at those huge flower pots!
